Saints vs. Colts best anytime touchdown scorer picks (Bet on Alvin Kamara)
By Jovan Alford
The New Orleans Saints will look to snap their two-game losing streak on Sunday as they will go on the road to take on the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
I found a couple of Saints players with great odds of scoring touchdowns and a Colts rookie who is becoming a playmaker in their offense. Below, I’ll break down my three favorite anytime scorer picks for Saints-Colts, using odds from Caesars Sportsbook.
Best Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks for Saints vs. Colts
- Alvin Kamara (+130)
- Josh Downs (+260)
- Michael Thomas (+245)
Alvin Kamara anytime touchdown scorer
Kamara has a fantastic matchup this Sunday to find the end zone against the Colts, who have allowed 10 rushing touchdowns to running backs this season (second-most in the NFL).
Last week, Indianapolis gave up three rushing touchdowns to the Browns RBs (Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt) and two touchdowns to Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr. in Week 6. Kamara has scored one touchdown this season, which came against the Patriots in Week 5.
The Saints’ offense hasn’t looked pretty this season, especially in the red zone. But it’s hard to ignore 10 rushing TDs allowed and 13 red zone rushing attempts by Kamara.
Josh Downs anytime touchdown scorer
The rookie wide receiver had an outstanding performance last week against the Browns, where he recorded five receptions (six targets) for 125 yards and a touchdown. Downs has scored a touchdown in back-to-back games and has a good rapport with Colts QB Gardner Minshew.
The Saints have only allowed six touchdowns to wide receivers this season, but there could be an opportunity for Downs to add to it, especially if defended by Alontae Taylor. Taylor has given up one touchdown and an 87.6 passer rating when targeted.
Michael Thomas anytime scorer
If the Saints want to snap their losing streak, they will need Derek Carr to be better and find his guys in the red zone. Michael Thomas scored his first touchdown this season last week against the Jaguars.
Also, the veteran receiver was targeted three times in the red zone, which was tied for first with Chris Olave, per ftnfantasy.com. The Colts have only allowed six touchdowns to WRs this season.
However, Thomas should thrive in his matchup against Darrell Baker Jr., who has allowed two touchdowns this season and has a passer rating of 125.6 when targeted. Olave gets most of the attention in the Saints’ WR room, but we can’t forget about Thomas!
