4. Alex Tanney, Quarterbacks Coach, Philadelphia Eagles

While a lot of folks want to talk about Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson as an up-and-coming head coach candidate, you also have to look at the rest of the Philly staff as well. The Eagles organization has been a factory for successful coordinators and coaches for years now, and former NFL quarterback Alex Tanney could be next in line.

Tanney spent from 2012 to 2020 in the NFL as mostly a backup and practice squad player, but what we know about "failed" pro quarterbacks now should tell you all you need to know. Many of them become excellent coordinators, coaches and analysts. Tanney fits the bill.

Having been around Philadelphia since 2021, where he got his start in coaching as an offensive quality control coach, Tanney has, in one way or another, been involved in the development of Jalen Hurts. While he can't take a lot of the credit, he's been part of the picture. He's also learned under Johnson, who will go on to do bigger and better things very soon in the future.
