Saints players we expected more from in 2022

Mark Ingram

Ingram hasn't played since Week 8, as he's been dealing with a knee injury. Even when he did play in Weeks 1-8, he didn't look like the same guy Saints fans once knew and loved. He rushed for 196 yards and a touchdown while recording another 46 yards as a pass-catcher. Ingram is a free agent in the offseason and he hasn't shown anything this season to warrant another contract with the Saints.

Paulson Adebo

After a stellar rookie season that saw him finish with an overall PFF grade of 60.3, Saints fans expected way more from Adebo in his sophomore season. He's disappointed mightily, however, posting a sad PFF grade of 35.7. All of his grades are down this year and Adebo looks like a totally different player.

Perhaps some of the struggles have stemmed from Marshon Lattimore being injured and therefore, not on the field, putting more pressure on Adebo. Whatever the reason might be, he's been one of the biggest letdowns in 2022.

Blake Gillikin

Gillikin was the Saints' secret weapon last year so watching him not be able to pin opponents deep this year was troublesome. While the punter did have a big game against the Steelers this past week, he's still had a season filled with setbacks in 2022 and that's something none of us saw coming after the performance he put together as a rookie.
