The New Orleans Saints blew a gigantic opportunity in their Week 13 collapse to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Had they held on and won that game and the two games after the BYE week went the same, this team would be in a good position to win the NFC South.

That's not what happened though and now the Saints are facing a slim chance to win the NFC South and host a playoff game in January.

According to FanDuel, the Saints have +2800 odds to win the NFC South, as of this writing. The Bucs lead the odds with -340 while the Panthers are still in it with +310. The Bucs and Panthers conveniently play this weekend and the winner of that game will have a golden opportunity to get things done in Week 18 and lock up a playoff spot.

Saints have an impossible task ahead of them

Considering that the Saints have to win out to even have a shot at winning the division and that one of their two remaining games is against the Eagles, things aren't looking great for them.

It's not surprising to see them as massive underdogs to win what's been a crappy division and fans will not be surprised if the black and gold are officially eliminated from playoff contention in Week 17 (whether it's a loss by NOLA or a win by Tampa Bay).

It's wild that despite winning six games, the Saints are even in this situation, but man, things would have been totally different right now had they eked out that win in Week 13.
