Saints lose Taysom Hill to another injury after his hot start against the Falcons
Health has not been on the New Orleans Saints side in recent weeks, but the team did welcome back Taysom Hill this week. The veteran offensive player missed the team’s Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but returned to practice this week, and started the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Unfortunately for New Orleans, Hill suffered an abdominal injury in the first half and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game. It’s unclear how severe the injury is, but this is definitely a tough loss for the Saints.
Saints rule Taysom Hill out with abdomen injury
With Hill back in the lineup, the offense looked a lot like it did in the first two weeks of the season. New Orleans was moving the ball effortlessly, and Hill was a big reason why. The Saints scored two touchdowns on their first two possessions, and both scores were Taysom Hill rushing touchdowns.
Before leaving the game with the injury, Hill had six carries for 24 yards and two touchdowns. It was immediately clear that he’s an irreplaceable piece in Klint Kubiak’s offense that makes the whole thing go.
After those first two drives, and since Hill left the game, New Orleans has been limited to just three points in five series. The offense looks a lot different, and much less productive without Taysom Hill. Whatever it takes, the Saints must figure something out if they’re going to pull this Week 4 game out in Atlanta.
