Saints Injury Report: Alvin Kamara slated to return for Week 5
By Kristen Wong
Attention all fantasy managers: New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is expected to suit up for Week 5's matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Kamara's status was downgraded to out on the morning of the Minnesota Vikings game as it seems the veteran running back needed an extra week to rest. He suffered a rib injury in the 2022 season-opener that has since caused him to miss two games.
Now, Kamara appears primed to retake RB1 duties while Mark Ingram serves as the backup.
ESPN's Katherine Terrell reported on Wednesday that Kamara was feeling "healthy" and "ready to roll" for Week 5, and on Thursday, NFL's Ian Rapoport backed that up with an update of his own.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara could return to action in Week 5 vs. Seahawks
Kamara was listed as limited in practice on Wednesday's injury report but the general feeling in Saints camp points toward Kamara taking starting snaps come Sunday.
At the very least, Kamara's health is trending upward and his chances of playing this week have risen significantly. The same can't be said for Jameis Winston or Michael Thomas, neither of whom have a clear timetable to return.
If the situation stays the same, Andy Dalton will start under center in Week 5 with Chris Olave in line to receive a lion's share of targets. Having Kamara in the backfield should give NOLA a much-needed boost in the running game and perhaps provide the spark the team needs to overpower an in-form Seattle squad.
Keep an eye on Kamara's status when the Saints release their injury report on Thursday.
