Saints inactives list for Week 5 game against Chiefs
The New Orleans Saints captured the NFL’s attention after a dominant start to the season, but they lost it just as quick as they gained it, losing the last two games in a devastating fashion. Now, New Orleans has a chance to make a statement with the NFL world watching, as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.
Nothing would get the fans and analysts talking like the Saints going into Arrowhead and handing the Chiefs their first loss of the season. While New Orleans has a chance to do that, the team will have to overcome several key abscences.
Injuries have been a major storyline for the Saints in the last few weeks, and this week is no different. New Orleans has already announced it will be without several key players.

Key absences and their impact
Taysom Hill being out is a big deal for New Orleans. With his versatile ability, it’s been clear the offense doesn’t work the same without him; that was evident with him missing the Week 3 game, and the majority of New Orleans’ Week 4 game. The playbook isn’t as creative without Hill, so Klint Kubiak must find other ways to move the ball and put up points.
Unfortunately, Kubiak and the offense will also be without some key lineman. Erik McCoy is still on injured reserve, Cesar Ruiz is about to miss his second straight game, and Shame Lemieux, who replaced McCoy last week, is also out this week. The Saints are exhausting their offensive line depth, and that’s usually bad news for teams.
On the other side of the ball, New Orleans will be without two key linebackers. Demario Davis is returning this week, but he’ll be without his running mates Pete Werner and Willie Gay. That puts pressure on younger linebacker D’Marco Jackson and Anfernee Orji to step up against the Chiefs offense.
