Saints hilariously trolled Bryce Young during Week 1 blowout
It's halftime in New Orleans and the Saints are destroying the Carolina Panthers to the tune of a 30 to 3 score. It has not been a good start for Bryce Young in the first game of his second season, as he's completed just 6 of 12 pass attempts for 50 yards and threw an interception on his first play of the game.
The Saints have had the ball bounce their way a lot in this game and they haven't been shy about it. The PA announcer made sure to troll Young after the second-year quarterback threw an incomplete pass by blaring the beginning of the hit song "My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit.
This song is still a bop multiple decades later and it's good to see it getting not only playing time at the Caesars Superdome but in the best possible situation. Give that crew a raise.
Saints are having fun clowning the Panthers amid rough start
The Panthers were the worst team in football a season ago and didn't even get to reap the benefits of it after trading their first-round pick to Chicago the year prior. They traded that pick so they could select Bryce Young first overall in 2023 and clearly that doesn't look too smart right now. That being said, Young hasn't had a lot of competency surrounding him since he entered the NFL.
Of course, there are still two quarters of football to be played in the Caesars Superdome and anything can happen but it's been an absolute brutal half of football for Young. The Panthers were hoping he'd bounce back after an abysmal rookie season but the Saints have done a perfect job of ensuring that wouldn't happen.
Meanwhile, the Saints have scored 30 points and Derek Carr has thrown for 121 yards and three touchdowns in his first game of the 2024 season. Carr has hit three different receivers with his touchdown passes and the Saints appear to be in business to kick off the 2024 season.
This game might not tell us how good the Saints are really going to be but it's been fun watching them get all of the breaks in this one.
