Saints fans will enjoy the Panthers getting absolutely roasted as a franchise
The dirt is being dished in Ben Standig's latest column on The Athletic which surveyed 31 NFL agents asking them who is the most stable organization, the least stable organization, and who had the best offseason. While the New Orleans Saints weren't crowned as one of the most stable franchises, they also didn't receive any votes for least stable.
The Carolina Panthers can't say the same. Not only did the Panthers receive votes for that dishonor, but they ended up with the most votes, snagging nine of 31 votes from the agents surveyed. The next-closest team was the Raiders with seven votes.
The two comments provided from agents regarding why the Panthers are so unstable pointed out how the franchise needs more time than David Tepper gives them. That same agent also notes that a good quarterback can make a bad front office look better but asked what the Panthers' plan is there. Oof.
The next provided comment really brought the laughs for Saints fans with one agent explaining their reasoning for voting for the Panthers. "I think the headline for this section should be that for the first time in my career, most NFL organizations are relatively competent. I can only think of a few that aren’t run well, starting with Carolina because of Tepper’s involvement."
Panthers get clowned on as an organization and Saints fans are loving it
While the Saints didn't get any votes as one of the most stable teams, at least they managed to avoid getting any votes for the least stable. The Panthers got absolutely crushed here and it's certainly well-deserved.
A team that went to the Super Bowl during the 2015 season has fallen so far since then and David Tepper is a big reason for why that is. Fortunately, the Saints get to reside in the same division as the Panthers and play against that dysfunctional team twice a year.
Looking at the rest of the article, the Atlanta Falcons received one vote as the most stable franchise, which is a bit surprising considering how bad they've been recently. The Falcons also received one vote in the "who had the best offseason" category.
The Saints didn't get a shoutout at all in the column but hey, that's better than what the Panthers are going through right now. Sometimes it's okay to be ignored.
