Cam Jordan is the latest NFL player to mock Daniel Jones
This week hasn't been kind to New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. We'll get to why I'm discussing Jones on a New Orleans Saints site in a minute but first, let's dive into why Jones is not enjoying himself this week.
After a joint practice between the Giants and New York Jets, Sauce Gardner was asked a question about Jones. Gardner said that he thinks Jones is a good quarterback but after that, it appeared he struggled to avoid saying anything negative about the Giants signal-caller.
Well, Gardner is not the only one to semi-dunk on Jones this week. Saints defensive lineman Cam Jordan was asked by Kay Adams to blind-rank quarterbacks. Essentially, a quarterback would randomly appear on the screen and he had to rank that signal-caller with one being the best and 10 being the worst of the bunch.
Jordan's mistake was putting Joe Burrow fifth right off the bat and even though his excuse was that it was the first one and he didn't know who else was going to appear, most people would agree that Burrow is the second or third-best quarterback in the league.
By the time Jones' name came up, Jordan was down to just three rankings left and those were the first, second, and third rankings. You can see the immediate hysterical panic setting in on Jordan's face as he says "No way! Nope. He's 11th." and when the graphic puts Jones in third by default, Jordan says, "Three, okay."
Cam Jordan dissing Daniel Jones is perfect
For those who are wondering, here's how Jordan's rankings turned out with when he was asked to rank them in parenthesis.
1. Aaron Rodgers (10th)
2. Josh Allen (9th)
3. Daniel Jones (8th)
4. Dak Prescott (2nd)
5. Joe Burrow (1st)
6. Will Levis (7th)
7. Trevor Lawrence (4th)
8. Russell Wilson (5th)
9. J.J. McCarthy (6th)
10. Jayden Daniels (3rd)
As you can see, Jordan got some good options right off the bat in Burrow and Prescott but putting them fourth and fifth ensured that he would have some duds higher up on the rankings. Had he put Burrow third and Prescott fourth, then the highest Jones could have been at that point would be fifth, which is still absurd, but less absurd than the Giants quarterback being higher than Burrow, Prescott, and Lawrence.
That being said, Jordan's top two aren't terrible choices. Rodgers certainly isn't the best quarterback in the league anymore but could you imagine if Jones was his last option and ended up in the top spot? Woof.
