Round 3: Pick 78 - Jared Verse, EDGE (Florida State)

With the first of their two third-round selections, New Orleans adds more help to their defense in the form of Jared Verse out of Florida State. The EDGE rusher transferred to Florida State this year from Albany and has made a difference for the Seminoles' defense racking up 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks through six games.

"As a pass rusher, Verse’s first step allows him to get around the edge on offensive linemen and he can turn the corner to get to the quarterback."

The Saints pass rush could use some help and with Marcus Davenport hitting free agency this offseason, it'd be a smart move for NOLA to add some pass-rushers in the draft. Verse gives them a player who can get after the quarterback.

Round 3: Pick 88 - Zach Evans, RB (Ole Miss)

After transferring from TCU to Ole Miss, Zach Evans already has more touchdowns through six games than he did in a full season during his time with the Horned Frogs. Armed with seven rushing touchdowns on the year as of this writing, Evans clearly has no problem getting into the end zone.

Mark Ingram is hitting free agency this spring so it'd be a smart move for the Saints to look into drafting a running back who can provide a 1-2 punch alongside Alvin Kamara. While some might argue that spending a third-round pick on a running back isn't a smart move, the Saints are a running team so it makes perfect sense for them.
