Saints prospects with questions

Laiatu Latu

Similar to Penix, Laiatu Latu’s biggest question is his injury history. In 2020, Latu suffered a severe neck injury that required surgery. This injury forced Latu to medically retire in the spring of 2021. Then, in 2022, he was cleared and transferred to UCLA. Now he is regarded as one of the top edge rushers in this year's draft. It’s a remarkable story.

When NFL teams go in and do their physicals on Latu it will be interesting to see how healthy he is. If he is healthy, then his draft stock could sore, possibly even up to the top 10. The athletic tests are also going to be super important to him, if he does well on them, and the physical, he is going to be a hot prospect going into the NFL draft.

Xavier Legette

Xavier Legette differs from the previous two as his main question marks are surrounding his performance at the Senior Bowl. There are no doubts that Legette is a great athlete, he is going to show that at the Combine. The concern is more with his catching. At the Senior Bowl, Legette had some issues on consistently catching passes and finishing the play. These tools will be on full display at the Combine and if he can put together a good showcase catching the ball, his stock will rise dramatically. That combined with his athleticism will make him an interesting prospect for teams to look at.
