Panthers vs. Saints prediction, odds, spread, injuries, trends for NFL Week 14
By Jovan Alford
The New Orleans Saints have been one of the more disappointing stories in the NFL this season, as they are 5-7 this season. Based on the talent they have, the Saints should be in first place in the NFC South.
But that's why we play the game on the field. The Saints hope to end their three-game losing skid on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans opened as 5.5-point home favorites over the Panthers despite being 0-5 against the spread at Caesars Superdome this season.

Panthers vs. Saints Key Players to Watch
Carolina Panthers
Chuba Hubbard: The 24-year-old running back had his best game of the season in last week’s loss against the Buccaneers. Hubbard produced 104 yards (season-high) and two touchdowns on 25 carries. The 6-foot-1 running back has outperformed and outplayed Miles Sanders, who was signed to a massive four-year deal in the offseason. Hubbard will try to rush for 100 yards again on Sunday against the Saints’ defense that allows 125.5 yards per game.
New Orleans Saints
Chris Olave: The second-year wide receiver continues to thrive in a Saints’ offense that should be better than they currently are. Olave has 68 receptions (111 targets) for 890 yards and three touchdowns this season.
Last week, the former Ohio State wideout turned in his second straight 100-yard outing against the Lions (five receptions for 119 yards). In New Orleans’ first meeting against Carolina, Olave had six receptions (11 targets) for 86 yards.
Panthers vs. Saints Prediction and Pick
Panthers-Saints is not the most appealing game on the Week 14 schedule, but there’s some intrigue. Carolina hasn’t won a game on the road (0-7) this season, while New Orleans is 0-5 against the spread at home, but they are 2-3 straight up.
The Saints hope to have Carr ready by Sunday, who is still in the league’s concussion protocol after exiting last week’s game against the Lions. Carr hasn’t played well in his first season with New Orleans, and some fans wonder if the team is better off with Jameis Winston or Taysom Hill.
To be honest, this Saints’ team is too talented on both sides of the ball to be two games below .500. New Orleans has lost its last three games by an average of 7.3 points per game. The Saints aren’t far from turning things around, but they still aren’t doing the little things to win.
As for Carolina, they’ve played better on the road lately, losing two out of their last three road games by three points. For the Panthers to win on Sunday, they must commit to the running game with Hubbard, which will help out Bryce Young.
Nevertheless, I’ll take the UNDER on the total, especially knowing the QB play has been bad for both squads.
