One team we probably won't see Saints trading with anytime soon

The New Orleans Saints General spoke on a podcast, lightheartedly, about another executive that he may pause to work with when making deals for the Saints.

Mickey Loomis is the longest-tenured General Manager in the entire NFL, which is actually quite an accomplishment when you think about it, having been the General Manager of the New Orleans Saints since the 2002 season. It's no secret that Loomis is the type that loves to wheel and deal, and considering he's built that rep over two decades with the Saints, that reputation is no secret.

One team that we can potentially check off the list of trade partners for the time being, is a fellow NFC franchise that Loomis and the Saints have done the dance with more than once in recent years, with the reviews not exactly glowing for the Saints.

When speaking on the Green Light Podcast hosted by Chris Long, Loomis had a lot to say about Philadelphia Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman, while laughing of course, so it was all in good fun.

""Well I think Howie Roseman is one of those guys, he’s very smart. Look, Howie and I have done some deals in the past. He’s really a bright guy. He’s done a great job in Philly. But he’s also one of those guys where I have to keep both hands in my back pockets when I’m talking to Howie. And I mean that in the most complimentary way.”"

It's easy to see why, there was the whole snafu with C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and the Saints essentially gift-wrapping the Eagles a top-ten pick in this past year's draft, which they ended up turning into Jalen Carter. So there's that.

Be that as it may, the New Orleans Saints are still in a pretty prime position to make some serious noise in this perceived weakened NFC South, and NFC as a whole. A big reason for that though, is their strong roster, and they have Mickey Loomis to thank.
