Saints What If Wednesday: What if interference was called in 2018 NFC Championship?
The final tally for the Saints and NFL when the dust settles
So let's summarize. Had pass interference been called in the 2018 NFC title game, the Saints go back-to-back as Super Bowl champs, and Drew Brees is more likely than not a part of the Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks. At least he's have a VERY strong argument.
There is a butterfly effect though. As a result in this alternate universe, the Saints eventually end up with Jalen Hurts, while the Eagles have Trey Lance, Mac Jones is with the 49ers, the Patriots do whatever they feel like at quarterback (as is tradition), and the Mahomes-Reid marriage is 1-2 in Super Bowls, with them only recently finally getting over the hump.
While this might sound completely crazy, that's also with the benefit of having knowledge of the primary universe we live in. In this actual reality, the NFL is pretty much just as crazy as any alternate reality and universe you can come up with.
So there you have it. That's how the Saints and the NFL would be different had the NOLA No-Call correctly been called. Feel free to let us know what other "What-If" scenarios you'd like to look at, as we'll be here every Wednesday with a new alternate reality to explore.
