Saints set to visit with potential new offensive weapon
The New Orleans Saints are keeping busy with eyes now on the upcoming NFL Draft. With that, the Saints will be bringing in a prospect for a pre-Draft visit.
The New Orleans Saints are ready to retool and reload on offense. The Saints brought in who they hope is next in line to take the baton as franchise quarterback from Drew Brees in Derek Carr, and are looking to do all they can to surround him talent to put him in the best position to suceed as possible.
With the 2023 NFL Draft right around the corner, and the Saints owning the 29th overall pick in the first round, it's time to get busy. With all this being said, an exciting prospect will be visiting the Big Easy, that could potentially take the offense to another level.
This upcoming Draft is littered with wide receiver prospects, similar to recent years. They just keep churning out. With the Saints picking in the back of the first round, they haven't been connected to the more "high-profile" prospects. That doesn't mean they aren't connected to one of the best though.
Jalin Hyatt was the most recent winner of the Biletnikoff Award, being named the best receiver in all of college football in 2022. He caught 67 balls for 1,267 yards and 15 touchdowns, so it's easy to see why he won with that sort of production. At 6-feet flat, and 180 pounds, he is a great size for an NFL wide receiver prospect as well.
Given all of that, it would be a real power grab if the Saints are fortunate enough to draft him. Putting Hyatt in a wide receiver room with a handful of young studs would do wonders for Carr. Of course, the quarterback Hyatt was primarily catching passes from in college has been linked to the Saints too, which in itself is interesting...
One thing at a time though.
The New Orleans Saints are smart to bring in Jalin Hyatt for a visit, which is schedule for Wednesday of this week. The prospect of drafting this prospect is a realistic one, and one that the team would be lucky to take advantage of.
