The New Orleans Saints are making quick work in getting their rookies under contract. The Saints have already signed more than half of their 2023 Draft class.

It's no secret that the offseason of the New Orleans Saints centered around their salary cap situation. Well, that and the Saints new quarterback in Derek Carr. As such, some decisions had to be made in the name of the cap, which makes this news all the more uplifting.

With the second day of the first wave of rookie mini camp now in the rearview mirror, the Saints announced that they have now signed over half of their 2023 Draft picks to contracts. Out of the seven selections, four are now officially Saints.

Now obviously, the Saints still need to officially put pen to paper with their first two draft picks in defensive tackle Bryan Bresee out of Clemson and Notre Dame edge-rusher Isaiah Foskey. The thing is though, there is a lot of time for that.

Sometimes rookies being signed to contract is the cause of rather unnecessary drama. So with that being the case, the fact that Mickey Loomis and company are moving swiftly to bring everyone in the fold, is a sign that the Saints mean business. The ink wasn't even dry on one contract before they finalized another, and that should be applauded.

Granted, there is still a lot of offseason to go until meaningful football is finally kicked off. With the landscape of the NFC South (and entire NFC), hopes are high for the New Orleans Saints. As such the front office has been under a microscope to an extent. While it may not seem like a big deal on the surface, it could be a sign of things to come, and that is certainly a positive sign.

Next. Now for one of the Saints new veterans. dark
