5 New Orleans Saints players who won't be back in 2024

This is going to be an offseason of resetting, in some ways.

It was a bizarre ending to the season for the New Orleans Saints. With the postseason on the line, the Saints obliterated a division rival, beating the Atlanta Falcons 48-17.

The way the game ended could define the season and moves to come for New Orleans, depending upon what really happens with head coach Dennis Allen, among other key names.

One thing is for sure, though, and that's the fact that New Orleans has a tough road ahead.

The Saints are dead last in the NFL in projected cap space for the offseason, per Over The Cap, sitting at negative $76 million. Free agency isn't going to be as eventful as fans would like. In fact, they'll likely wave goodbye to at least these five players.

1. Jimmy Graham, TE

To everyone's surprise, Jimmy Graham played football for one more season after sitting out the previous year. It was definitely fitting to see him play his last season in the NFL with the Saints, assuming he doesn't play elsewhere in 2024.

At age 37, though, Graham looks like he is just about done in the league. He is nowhere near the guy he once was. In fact, even his time in Green Bay and Chicago started to show that. Now, the Saints should bid him farewell in the assumption that he's going to retire.

The tight end position is a spot where the Saints need to find a real playmaker. Juwan Johnson has been good in the red zone, but this team needs someone who can be an open-field threat and gain yardage after the catch. Finding one of those in the draft should be a priority.
