Hopefully, the wide receiver position is one that is much-improved for the Saints in 2023. Last year, it was chock full of injuries and projects. The only constant was 2022 first-round pick Chris Olave, whom the Saints must make their number one option going forward.

Of course, Michael Thomas is making his return and wants to prove all of the doubters wrong. But, at this stage, Thomas is best served as the team's second option at wide receiver.

Then, there's the 2022 undrafted free agent Rashid Shaheed, who showed up big time on a few occasions last year. He has plenty of speed and can do some things well both in the receiving game and on special teams, and is having a great camp thus far. Fourth and fifth in line are veteran Tre'Quan Smith and rookie A.T. Perry out of Wake Forest, both of whom should end up making the roster.

From there, there are a lot of possibilities. Bryan Edwards is looking to resurrect his career before it's over. James Washington, Keith Kirkwood and a few other veterans desire a spot. But, former third-round pick Lynn Bowden is not one who will make this football team. Ironically enough, he's another busted Raiders draft pick who has gone from team to team in just a short amount of time.

Bowden went from having a fun, almost rare skill set with tons of speed, to a guy who is scratching and clawing to be part of an NFL practice squad in a matter of just three years.
