The New Orleans Saints need to patch up their trenches, and are off to a good start. The way the Draft has gone, the Saints can help both sides early.

Coming into the 2023 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints needed to retool and reload the trenches on both sides of the ball. The futures of the interior offensive line is in doubt, and the defensive line was gutted in free agency. The Saints addressed defense round one with Bryan Bresee, now it's time for offense in round two.

The Saints were reportedly high on TCU guard Steve Avila, perhaps even in round one, and what do you know, he's still on the board as we enter round two. He's not alone though. O'Cyrus Torrence out Florida is still out there, as is North Dakota Bison Cody Mauch. Heck, even center John Michael Schmitz out of the University of Minnesota is available as well if Mickey Loomis and company are feeling just a little frisky.

If you're connecting the dots, this is lined up perfectly for the Saints to go get their offensive lineman, and keep the trenches draft going. After all, as the writer has harped on with seemingly every article, games are won and lost in the trenches.

Without even getting into the rest of the NFC South, the Saints have to feel good about how this Draft has fallen for them to this point. They chose to get the defensive lineman they wanted, and now, they can go get the offensive lineman they want as well. Have their cake and eat it too and that old chestnut.

The New Orleans Saints need to be thinking trenches, trenches, trenches. So far, so good, and the 2023 NFL Draft looks to be doing them favors. Time will tell what happens, but for now the #vibes are trending up.
