3 nightmare scenarios for Saints and how to avoid them
- A suspension incoming?
- Same old, same old WR issue?
- Will the division prove to be tougher than expected?

What could possibly go wrong? It's a question asked in many sports, occupations and, quite frankly, life in general. For the New Orelans Saints and their 2023 season, though, this question is a valid one.
There are a few things that could happen to these Saints that would throw a wrench into the expectations they have for the upcoming campaign, but that's just it: it's all about expectations for some of these things.
With that in mind, let's tackle some possible nightmare scnerios for New Orleans and how the team could deal with them if they were to arise.
1. Alvin Kamara is suspended
The first situation that would be a tough one for New Orleans is if running back Alvin Kamara is suspended. By now, most know what's gone on with his legal troubles, and a suspension seems inevitable.
Unfortunately, the Saints are in a tough spot, financially, with Kamara's contract. They cannot cut him, or they would be out a whopping $24.7 million in dead cap. Now, there is no way to truly "avoid" a suspension, obviously. But, the Saints do have reason to be hopeful if Kamara is suspended.
First of all, the team signed veteran Jamaal Williams, who led the league in touchdown rushes last year. Williams is a do-it-all type who can run and catch passes, similarly to Kamara, and is also a tough runner.
Secondly, there are some free agents out there whom the Saints can bring in to relieve any loss of Kamara. If it's a short suspension, then signing a free agent doesn't make a ton of sense. However, if it's several games, then maybe the Saints look at a Dalvin Cook or Ezekiel Elliott to come in and take over that role.
