A division rival of the New Orleans Saints decided to shake things up, with the news coming conveniently when things aren't exactly sunny for the Saints.

The Carolina Panthers, the one team the New Orleans Saints are certainly NOT competing with for the NFC South crown, have decided to part ways with head coach Frank Reich, 11 games into his tenure with the team. That means in two weeks, the Saints will be playing the Panthers when their rivals have a new head honcho.

It also means that the Saints will be playing the Panthers in the ever-important SECOND game under an interim head coach.

The NFL world really is a roller coaster ride, and like most roller coasters, fans can't wait to get back on the ride. With the Panthers firing Reich, we can confirm that (at least) one team in the division will have a new coach for the Saints to deal with. Given some of the potential candidates that will be out in the forefront of the hiring cycle this offseason, it'll be interesting to see what the Panthers do when it comes to pairing the new coach with quarterback Bryce Young.

The interim head coach for the Panthers will be special teams coordinator Chris Tabor. While teams tend to come out of the gates firing the first game under an interim head coach, only then to crash back down to earth after. That's big for the Saints, considering they play the Panthers in two weeks, and need all the wins they can possibly get.

This will be the second year in a row the Panthers will have an interim head coach (Steve Wilks filled in last year and actually did a decent job), and Reich becomes the first head coach to be fired two seasons in a row. Such is life in the NFC South.

We now know the NFC South will look different for the New Orleans Saints to prepare for in the present and future, and it'll be interesting to see what changes they plan to make to take them on.
