Saints injury report not ideal for Derek Carr, and the team as a whole
Given the injury report of the New Orleans Saints, and the pass-rushers of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Saints quarterback may be under some duress.
We won't sugarcoat things here. The New Orleans Saints will be without both of their starting offensive tackles for their primetime tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football, and that is not good news, like at all for the Saints.
The offensive line has been testing the patience of fans, and how patient Derek Carr is allowed to be in the pocket, all year. Now, things are taking a turn for the worse. Carr is already banged up as a result of the punishment he is taken, and the pass-rush unit of the Jaguars features last year's number-one overall pick in Travon Walker, plus Josh Allen, we would say the OTHER Josh Allen, but given that he is tied for the league-lead in sacks with seven, we won't be disrespectful.
As such, this has a chance to be a long night for Carr and the offense. It also doesn't help that Thursday Night Football games have the tendency of being pretty ugly, that's another thing not exactly working in Carr or the Saints favor.
With all of this being said, the Saints do still have a lot of talent in their skill positions, not to mention an elite defense. Given that the game will also be their return to the Superdome after a road trip, the Saints still have a great chance to win the game.
While we still think the New Orleans Saints are going to come away victorious in front of a primetime national audience, it certainly won't be pretty, and they're going to have to earn it. No matter what happens, we can at least surmise and guess that it'll feel like a long night for Derek Carr without his two starting tackles, or whoever ends up taking snaps at quarterback!
