Saints third-round pick: Andre Carter II - EDGE (Army)

But wait there's more. As mentioned, the drafting of Ika allows the Saints more time to retool and reload their pass-rush unit with their new defensive tackle making life easier for the outside. That also allows them to draft a, for lack of a better word, "project" of a pass-rusher.

Andre Carter Il is one of the better pro prospects to come out of Army in a long time, maybe even ever.

He's listed as a 3-4 outside linebacker, but he's expected to make the switch to a 4-3 defensive end if he has to. It helps that he's something of a physical freak at nearly 6-feet-7-inches and about 256 pounds, with many front offices expecting him to significantly bulk up when he gets to the NFL. He would be able to fit right into New Orleans, who have done well for themselves drafting pass-rushers outside of the first round.

It may not be the most glamorous approach to the Draft for fans, but it could be the most necessary.

The trenches on both sides of the ball need to be touched up, and with this start to the Draft, now the Saints can get into the more "fun" stuff.
