The New Orleans Saints are the favorites to win a weak NFC South division in the 2023 season, but they also saw a ton of turnover to their roster in the offseason.

New Orleans Saints key offseason additions

  • QB Derek Carr
  • TE Foster Moreau
  • RB Jamaal Williams
  • DL Khalen Saunders
  • DL Nathan Shepherd
  • DL Bryan Bressee
  • EDGE Isaiah Foskey
  • RB Kendre Miller
  • WR A.T. Perry

New Orleans Saints key offseason losses

  • EDGE Marcus Davenport
  • DL David Onyemata
  • LB Kaden Elliss
  • QB Andy Dalton
  • DL Shy Tuttle

The Saints certainly have some more stable quarterback play with Carr this season, but they also won’t have star running back Alvin Kamara to open the season due to a suspension.

However, with Tom Brady retiring (for good this time) the division is up for the taking. BetSided’s Iain MacMillan shared his favorite bet for New Orleans this season in his season-long guide for every team.

Here’s a look into the Saints’ futures odds for the 2023 season.

New Orleans Saints Super Bowl 58 odds

The Saints are in the middle of the pack to win the Super Bowl, and while the team should be slightly better than it was in 2022, asking Carr to win the Super Bowl may be a tall task.

Bettors may want to take a wait-and-see approach with the Saints, but there is some value since the NFC is significantly weaker than the AFC this season.

New Orleans Saints win total prediction for the 2023 season

The Saints have a win total projection set at 9.5 games, and it’s likely that 10 wins gets them into the playoffs after multiple nine win or fewer teams made it last season.

New Orleans’ schedule is pretty easy, as the team avoids playing several big name quarterbacks in the 2023 campaign including Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts.

New Orleans Saints odds to win NFC South

New Orleans Saints odds to win NFC

The Saints are +1700 to win the NFC this season, even though they are the favorites in the NFC South division.

New Orleans Saints odds to make the playoffs

The Saints are -180 favorites to make the playoffs, a sign that oddsmakers expect them to earn a wild card even if they don’t win the division. Taking them at +130 to win the division is a little riskier, but certainly it presents more value.

Best New Orleans Saints season-long prop bet

Derek Carr OVER 11.5 interceptions thrown (-120)

This may not be a prop that Saints fans like, but I think it has a lot of value in the 2023 season.

Carr has thrown 14 interceptions in back-to-back seasons, including the 2022 campaign when he appeared in just 15 games. In his NFL career, Carr has 12 or more picks in five of his nine seasons.

The Saints can still win with Carr, but he’s prone to making mistakes and is now in a new offense with new receivers. If the chemistry isn’t there right away, I wouldn’t be shocked if he makes a few mistakes that lead him to clearing this number.
