Michael Thomas pops off with tirade against prominent Saints reporter
The New Orleans Saints and Michael Thomas are about to break up for good and it's for the best. On Thursday, Thomas decided to make a memorable exit from New Orleans by going on a Twitter tirade against New Orleans reporter Jeff Duncan.
Duncan wrote a column about how the Saints are planning to release Thomas and this set the former second-round pick off. He attacked Duncan in various tweets with the attacks ranging from calling him fake to saying he's only looking to get clicks and then posting an image of Duncan and calling him a clown.

According to Katherine Terrell, Thomas' contract was set up with this exact scenario in mind. It was always known that he'd be released in the offseason and that's now what's taking place. The oft-injured receiver will be a free agent for the first time in his career and should have some suitors despite his recent injuries.
Thomas hasn't been shy when it comes to popping off at people in the past and he made sure to go out with a bang. Thomas finishes his Saints career with 6,569 yards and 36 touchdowns and won the Offensive Player of the Year award in 2019 when he hauled in 149 receptions for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns.
Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. Thomas played in just 20 games from 2020 through 2023 as injuries took their toll on the Saints wideout. It's sad to see him go after such a stellar early part of his career but this parting of ways was a long time coming.
