Game-by-game predictions for 2023 New Orleans Saints schedule
By Randy Gurzi
Week 6: New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans
The Houston Texans were very aggressive in the 2023 NFL Draft, moving up to No. 3 right after taking C.J. Stroud at No. 2. The move was bold and it landed them a potential stud in Will Anderson to lead their defense. Throw in head coach DeMeco Ryans and this team could end up surprising some this season.
At home, they're not only able to hold their own but they also shock the Saints with a win. New Orleans might be guilty of looking past them, which will be a major mistake.
Final Score: Texans 33, Saints 30 - OT
Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars at New Orleans Saints
With the AFC South on the schedule, the Saints will have to potentially face three of the top rookie quarterbacks from this past draft — Ryan Tannehill will likely still start over Will Levis, but we never know what could happen. They'll also have to see Trevor Lawrence, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Lawrence made some huge strides in 2022 with 4,113 yards and 25 touchdown passes against just eight picks. He also got his team into the playoffs as he clearly excelled under Doug Pederson.
Now in year three, Lawrence is ready to prove he should be mentioned among some of the best in the game — and he has another new weapon in Calvin Ridley. This one might not be a lot of fun for Saints fans.
Final Score: Jaguars 37, Saints 23
