Game-by-game predictions for 2023 New Orleans Saints schedule
By Randy Gurzi
Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints
The Saints lead their series 39-24 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had a five-game winning streak going from 2018 through 2020. However, the Bucs have turned things around and have won three of the past five contests — including both in 2022.
This season, things should be vastly different with the two sides changing quarterbacks. And if we're being honest, Baker Mayfield vs. Derek Carr doesn't feel the same as the Tom Brady vs. Drew Brees showdown we got to see in 2020.
Having said that, the Saints have the advantage under center now and that leads to a one-score win.
Final Score: Saints 23, Bucs 20
Week 5: New Orleans Saints at New England Patriots
There was a time when Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots were the most feared team in the NFL. That's no longer the case, especially given the decline in play from Mac Jones — who was highly ineffective in 2022.
New England will be focused on getting Jones back on track but their defense should be a problem no matter what. Having said that, their offense lacks firepower and it's easy to see the Saints holding them down while finding just enough points to upset the Pats at home.
Final Score: Saints 22, Patriots 13
