Former Saints WR announces his retirement in 2022

Former New Orleans Saints wideout Emmanuel Sanders announced his retirement on Wednesday following an illustrious 12- season career.
Sanders signed a one-day contract with the Denver Broncos and promptly retired, allowing him to end his career with the franchise where he flourished the most.
The 35-year-old found the most success as a Bronco, playing in Denver for six years during which he earned two Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl. He then spent short one-year stints on the San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and New Orleans Saints.
Though his time in New Orleans was brief, Sanders was still a healthy contributor on the offense, posting 61 catches for 726 yards and five touchdowns in 2020. It was one of his greatest performances at the backend of his career, and Sanders played an important role in filling in for snaps in the wake of Michael Thomas' injury.

Sanders officially announced his retirement on Instagram.
"I've decided to retire from the National Football League. I had one hell of a ride. Three Super Bowl appearances, multiple Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl champion. I gave the game everything I had and it treated me well which is why I'm happy with my decision."

While Sanders no doubt created his most glorious memories in Denver, he was well-liked in New Orleans as a solid and reliable pass-catcher.
Sanders came to New Orleans in the decline of Drew Brees' career, but he made the most of his opportunities as the Saints ended up winning the NFC South that year.
Surprisingly, Sanders finished as the team's second leading receiver in 2020 recording 30 receiving yards fewer than Alvin Kamara; he far outperformed the likes of Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harty, Tre'Quan Smith, and an injured Michael Thomas.
