Fans are worried about Saints’ reputation after top prospects seemingly laugh at team
The New Orleans Saints appear to be the butt of some top prospects’ joke, leaving fans disappointed about how the franchise is being viewed.
No one wants to be the laughingstock of the NFL. Every season, there are always a few teams that are just hilariously miserable. Losing games is one way to end up in that position, but the way teams lose and carry out business also plays a big role. Regardless of the path, no team wants to end up there.
The New Orleans Saints, who were 9-8 last season, were disappointing, but they weren’t really a bad football team. However, that may not have stopped the franchise from being viewed as a joke by some. In fact, some fans believe that a few of the top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft were recently laughing at the Saints.
LSU stars Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. were recently on Instagram live talking with each other and interacting with fans. At one point in the live, Daniels read a fan comment that said,” Brian Thomas to the Saints.” Immediately after reading it, the three prospects hid their faces and started to laugh.

Naturally, fans saw this video and ran with it. Several New Orleans fans expressed some sense of disappointment that the Saints are seemingly being viewed as a joke. Others even used the opportunity to project their feelings about head coach Dennis Allen and quarterback Derek Carr on to the three prospects.
While these three prospects very well could be laughing at the Saints, the fairest way to read this situation is that they are just three young friends joking around on social media, and we probably shouldn’t read into it that much at all. During the same live, Daniels read another comment about Brian Thomas possibly being drafted by the Buffalo Bills, and the same thing happened: they started laughing really hard. Sometimes it’s just about having a good time with the bros.
Either way, Brian Thomas Jr. could end up with the Saints. All three of these guys are likely on New Orleans’ radar, but Thomas may be the only one New Orleans has the chance to actually draft.
