Younger brothers love to follow after their older siblings and do everything they seem them doing. That has once again been made evident by the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Falcons. What is a division rivalry is also a good franchise, the Saints, and their little brother, the Falcons.

In true younger sibling fashion, Atlanta is trying to be just like New Orleans, pursing star safety Justin Simmons. Simmons, who is the top free agent on the market, recently visited with the Saints. Now, it’s being reported Simmons is visiting with the Falcons on Monday and Tuesday.

This certainly isn’t exciting news for New Orleans fans, but it is a reminder of who’s the big brother in the division.

The news that there was mutual interest between Simmons and New Orleans was actually a shock to many. The Saints have a solid safety room with Tyrann Mathieu and Jordan Howden starting, but the team couldn’t pass up the possibility of adding an elite player to the roster.

Simmons, who’s entering year nine, is coming off a Pro Bowl season. It was the second Pro Bowl for the veteran safety that has spent his entire career with the Denver Broncos. With Denver deciding to restart, Simmons became one of the best players available.

He reportedly had a nice meeting with the franchise, and head coach Dennis Allen admitted the team has been speaking with Simmons since the spring. However, following the visit, the team and the veteran safety seem to be much closer than when they initially started discussions.

Still, Simmons left his visit without a contract, and he’s now visiting with the Falcons. Saints fans will have to wait and see if he’ll circle back to New Orleans, while hoping he doesn’t sign with the Falcons.
