Don’t expect Taysom Hill’s role to decrease in the Saints’ new offense

The New Orleans Saints have a new offense, with Klint Kubiak taking over as offensive coordinator. However, fans should still expect a lot of Taysom Hill.

Things will look different next season for the New Orleans Saints offense. While they will have a lot of the same players, the unit has a new person in charge, with Klint Kubiak joining as offensive coordinator this offseason. Kubiak will have to change some things around so the offense can reach its goals.

However, one thing that will remain is Taysom Hill’s involvement in the offense. Hill, who was built into a unique, versatile offensive weapon by the last offensive regime, has been a big part of the Saints offense in recent years. However, because of his position-less identity, there were questions about if his role would decrease in New Orleans’ new offense. Klint Kubiak has already made it clear in OTAs that’s not happening.

Taysom Hill will continue to be a versatile weapon for the Saints

With OTAs just getting started, the media had the opportunity to watch New Orleans practice. One of the big takeaways was that Taysom Hill was lined up all over the offense. Taking snaps in the backfield and on the line, it doesn’t seem like Hill’s role will change much. In fact, with Kubiak‘s emphasis on the run game, Hill may be even more involved.

Last season, Taysom Hill appeared in 16 of the 17 games. In those games, he carried the ball 81 times for 401 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 33 passes for 291 yards and two additional touchdowns. Hill even completed six passes for 83 yards and another touchdown.

With his versatile skill set, Hill can provide a lot to this offense. From running to catching to passing, it’ll be fun to watch how many ways Kubiak can get him involved in the offense. Between Taysom Hill and Alvin Kamara, Kubiak should be able to scheme up some fun concepts.
