Chris Olave is somehow trailing in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race

There haven't been many bright spots for the New Orleans Saints this year but rookie first-round pick Chris Olave has been one of them.

Through 10 games, Olave has nabbed 51 receptions for 760 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 76.0 yards per game. The kid has been sensational during his inaugural year in the pros but he's not leading the pack when it comes to Offensive Rookie of the Year, which is surprising.

The only two players ahead of Olave in the Offensive Rookie of the Year race, per FanDuel, are Kenneth Walker and Dameon Pierce. Walker, a second-round pick out of Michigan State, has 587 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns for the Seahawks while tallying another 100+ yards through the air. Pierce, a fourth-round pick out of Florida, has 780 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns with another 130+ receiving yards and a receiving score as well.

Walker's odds sit at -140, meaning he's the frontrunner right now. Pierce is sitting at +350 while Olave is in third with +500 odds.

How is Chris Olave not leading the OROTY race?

Walker is the only one out of the three that is currently playing for a playoff team, as both the Saints and Texans are struggling. The Texans being as bad as they are (they're in the running for the No. 1 overall pick) helps Pierce's argument, as he's the only bright spot on that bad Houston team.

Olave is the leading receiver in the race and he certainly still has a chance to win the coveted OROTY title. This is definitely a three-man race at this point though, as Christian Watkins has the fourth-best odds at +1600, so he's not really close to contending with the other three.

If Olave finishes the season strong while Walker and Pierce slip up a bit, the Offensive Rookie of the Year title could very well be his.
