Chris Olave arrest another ring in Saints circus this season
A bright young star on the New Orleans Saints offense found himself in hot water, and in jail, this week as the hits just keep on coming for the Saints.
Boy, when it rains it pours, and the New Orleans Saints suddenly find themselves out in the elements without an umbrella. That may be a bit much, but considering the first half of the Saints season hasn't exactly lived up to expectations, the timing of this little snafu couldn't have been worse.
Chris Olave very well could be called the team's MVP so far in 2023 when it comes to his play on the field. Sure, that isn't exactly a glowing endorsement when you consider how the team has looked to this point, particularly the offense, but as they say in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king.
Unfortunately, Olave found himself arrested for reckless driving.
While this really isn't related to anything on the field, you can't just help but get the feeling that things are starting to unravel at the moment. It's one of those situations where the team could probably really use a bye week to regroup, but unfortunately that doesn't come until week eleven.
Naturally this is the internet, so Olave has been getting meme'd into oblivion, however this is far from a laughing matter. It's a dangerous one. For whatever it's worth, Olave has since been released from jail.
It really feels like the thing that is impeding the New Orleans Saints from getting to where they want to go in 2023 is themselves. They just can't get out of their own way. With the recent arrest of Chris Olave, that point now suddenly feels exacerbated. Who knows what will come of this, if anything, but if things don't turn around any time soon, there will more likely than not be consequences. Calm waters don't make good sailors, and it's time to see just how bad this team wants to bring this ship into shore.
