Best NFL Prop Bets for Saints vs. Browns in Week 16 (Take the Saints' Not-So-Secret Weapon)
By Josh Yourish
I’m not sure there is any amount of money you could pay me to go see the 6-8 Cleveland Browns host the 5-9 New Orleans Saints with 40 mph winds and a wind chill of -11 this Saturday.
The Dawg Pound will be out in the elements for this one, but I’ll be much happier at home on the couch, looking to wager this frigid matchup with some great prop bets currently available on the board.
There’s one specific player I expect to have a very big day for New Orleans, so let’s go.
Best NFL Prop Bets for Saints vs. Browns
- Taysom Hill Over 36.5 Rush Yards (-114)
- Taysom Hill Anytime TD (+300)
- Deshaun Watson Under 150.5 Pass Yards (-120)
Taysom Hill Over 35.5 Rush Yards (-114)
I think we can agree on Dennis Allen's struggles in his first year as the Saints' head coach, but he’d have to be an outright idiot to not play Taysom Hill over Andy Dalton for the majority of this game.
Nobody will be able to throw the ball in this weather, so while Hill isn’t a perfect fit, at least offering the threat of a runner under center each time should open up the offense compared to Dalton.
Honestly, Allen should have brought in Army’s offensive coordinator this week and installed the triple option. The Browns are terrible at stopping the run and this game is going to be won on the ground. Hill is the Saints not-so-secret weapon.
Taysom Hill Anytime TD (+300)
The Browns have given up 17 rushing touchdowns this season and are allowing five yards a carry to their opponents. If Allen is smart enough to give Hill the opportunity, he can take over this game.
Deshuan Watson Under 148.5 Pass Yards (-120)
Much to the delight of the American public, Watson has been a disaster since coming back from his suspension. He’s thrown for 131, 276, and 161 yards in his three games this year, and with the weather in Cleveland this week, he’ll be hard pressed to throw for 100 yards.
