Can we Count on Chris Olave to emerge as the top target in NOLA?

Both the Titans and Saints are looking to find its offense after down years in 2022, and this can be the coming out party for two emerging stars at wide receiver.

Chris Olave and Treylon Burks were each first round picks in 2022 and bring a ton of upside to the field, can they show it in the opening game of the 2023 season? What about Jamaal Williams, who is set to be the featured back for the Saints as Alvin Kamara serves his suspension and Kendre Miller may not be able to play?

Here are my three favorite prop targets in this Week 1 matchup:

Best Prop Bets for Titans vs. Saints

  • Chris Olave Over 66.5 Receiving Yards
  • Jamaal Williams Over 49.5 Rushing Yards
  • Treylon Burks Over 38.5 Receiving Yards

Chris Olave Over 66.5 Receiving Yards

Olave was an 1,000 yard receiver as a rookie last season and now will have an upgrade at quarterback with Derek Carr stepping in under center. I expect him and Olave to thrive as we've seen Carr work well with strong route runners that are his No. 1 receiver, namely Davante Adams last season.

While Olave may not be as proven as Adams, the usage may be there for a more pass-happy offense in 2023. He cleared 60 yards in nine of 15 games last season, and with an increase in volume, he should see numbers in the 70's moving forward.

Jamaal Williams Over 49.5 Rushing Yards

The Saints backfield is a bit jumbled at the moment, so I'll trust the only healthy and active one in Williams. Kamara is suspended and Miller is a game-time call, leaving this role up to Williams.

The Titans have had a stout rush defense over the past several years, 11th in rush success rate, but given that Williams is a shoe-in to start and likely see the lion's share of carries, I'll take him to get to the 50-yard marker.

Treylon Burks Over 38.5 Receiving Yards

We can't only focus on Saints props, so let's talk about another young star receiver. Burks struggled to stay healthy and work with Ryan Tannehill much in his rookie season, as he had health issues of his own.

However, this is set to be a big year for the former Arkansas standout. After getting about five targets per game last season, Burks is set to hit the ground running in 2023 with a fully healthy Titans offense around him and a full training camp to emerge as the team's most talented pass catcher.

This number is baked into Burks' numbers last season, which featured missed games, ineffective QB play and more. Now, he's set to shine and look more like a player near Olave's level. I think the Titans can air it out a bit this year and Burks is too explosive to be lined below 40 yards.
