Gardner Minshew

Saints fans probably aren't as keen on wanting this to happen after seeing how badly Minshew played against New Orleans in Week 17 but it is certainly an option for them. Minshew was a sixth-round pick by the Jaguars in 2019 and outplayed Nick Foles that year and that's how Minshew Mania was born.

The Jaguars were really bad in 2020 but Minshew looked okay throwing 16 touchdowns and six picks through nine games. Still, the team was bad enough that Jacksonville landed the No. 1 overall pick and that gave them the rights to Trevor Lawrence's NFL career, or at least the start of it.

Minshew was traded to Philadelphia in the 2021 offseason and started two games each year. He was pretty good in the loss to the Cowboys this year but really struggled vs NOLA. Minshew is honestly another version of Dalton so signing him wouldn't be exciting by any means.

Baker Mayfield

The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft was traded to the NFC South last offseason but couldn't help the Panthers get to the playoffs. Mayfield demanded to be released and the Panthers complied and he closed out the 2022 season with the Rams.

Mayfield wasn't great by any means but he did enough that a team might be interested in taking a flier on him in 2023. He played in five games and passed for 850 yards while throwing four touchdowns and two picks.

Some team is going to be interested in giving Mayfield a shot but it shouldn't be the Saints.
