I'm probably not the first person to tell you that the New Orleans Saints are in quarterback purgatory right now. This past season, despite signing Jameis Winston to a two-year deal, the team ended up making the switch to Andy Dalton early on and never looked back.

Dalton is a free agent though, meaning the Saints are once again in a position where they need a quarterback. Here are seven potential options for them whether it's in free agency or through a trade.

Andy Dalton

We'll just get this one out of the way. Dalton took over as the Saints starter in Week 4 after Winston got off to a rocky start and the Red rifle never relinquished the job. He finished his inaugural season as a Saint with 2,871 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions while getting sacked 25 times.

Dalton isn't the long-term answer by any means but the Saints sticking with him even when Winston was under contract for next year shows that the team might be interested in bringing Dalton back and having him start in 2023. This probably isn't people's first pick but if Dalton's the quarterback, we'll know what the offense can look like at its best and at its worst.
