Can we not play these teams ever again?

Sometimes no matter what a team does, another team has their number. The New Orleans Saints are no stranger to this. Let's look at the teams who the Saints have the worst record against in the NFL, according to Pro Football Reference.

5. San Francisco 49ers

  • Record: 27-49-2
  • Winning Percentage: .359

Kicking off the list are the 49ers, who the Saints own a .359 winning percentage against in 79 games. These two teams have traded wins over the last decade and before that, New Orleans actually owned a six-game winning streak against the Niners spanning from 2002 to 2012.

That's the longest win streak the Saints have owned against San Francisco but the 49ers have had plenty of win streaks against NOLA, including an eight-game win streak from 1974 to 1977. The last time these two teams played was in 2022 and the 49ers won 13 to 0.

4. Green Bay Packers

  • Record: 10-18
  • Winning Percentage: .357

Next up are the Packers, who the Saints own a .357 winning percentage against in 28 games. The Saints have never won more than two games in a row against Green Bay while the Packers' longest winning streak against New Orleans was seven games.

The last meeting between the Saints and the Packers came during the 2023 season when the Packers came from behind and beat NOLA 18 to 17.

3. Cleveland Browns

  • Record: 6-13
  • Winning Percentage: .316

Shifting gears to the AFC, the Saints haven't been good against the Brown, who they own a .316 winning percentage against. They've only won six games against Cleveland in 19 match-ups and it took until 1984 for them to record their first win against the Browns. By that point, they had eight losses to the Browns already in the books.

While the Saints have added to their win total in this head-to-head match-up, the Browns have still managed to have their number even in down years. They beat them the season after the Saints won the Super Bowl in a shocking turn of events and got the better of them four years later as well when they weren't any good. For whatever reason, the Browns continue to have the Saints' number.

T1. Baltimore Ravens

  • Record: 2-6
  • Winning Percentage: .250

The Saints have two teams tied for the team they're the worst against with the Ravens claiming one of those two spots. NOLA owns a mere .250 winning percentage against Baltimore and have won only two games against the AFC North squad. The two have only played eight times but it hasn't gone well for New Orleans.

The Saints narrowly beat the Ravens for their second-ever win against the franchise in 2018 and it was all thanks to Justin Tucker doing the unthinkable and missing a last second field goal. In the Saints and Ravens' 2022 meeting, however, Baltimore got back in the win column, blasting the Saints 27 to 13.

T1. Denver Broncos

  • Record: 3-9
  • Winning Percentage: .250

Tied for the top spot are the Broncos, who the Saints also own a .250 winning percentage against and have won just three games in 12 games. With the Broncos residing in the AFC West, these two teams don't play very often so it'll take quite a bit of time for New Orleans to even the score here.

The Saints did win the last meeting between these two. That was the infamous game where the Broncos' entire quarterback room had COVID-19 and weren't cleared to play so the Broncos had to trot a wide receiver out there to play quarterback. New Orleans won 31 to 3.
