Lou Hedley

The Saints brought Lou Hedley in to compete with Blake Gillikin for the punting job and Hedley won the gig. Hedley had a fun story, hailing from Australia and wanting to take the NFL by storm. Unfortunately, there wasn't a ton of good from the Australian punter.

Hedley ranked 37th in the NFL out of all of the punters in average yards and considering there are 32 teams in the league, that's an indicator of Hedley's struggles. He also ranked 32nd in average hangtime, another rough mark on the punter's resumé.

Landon Young

With a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Saints took a chance on Kentucky offensive lineman Landon Young. In three years with the team, Young has appeared in 39 games (mostly on special teams) and has started seven games. This past season, he filled in at right tackle for Ryan Ramczyk and also spent a limited time at left tackle as well. Neither went particularly well.

He was graded as one of the worst Saints players for the 2023 season by PFF, receiving an overall grade of 49.4. While the Saints never likely had any major plans for Young, it's safe to say that he won't be in the team's long-term plans at least not on the offensive line.
