1. Saints can trade for Raiders receiver Hunter Renfrow

Back to Vegas we go. Since New Orleans needs receivers, how about reuniting Derek Carr with one of his favorite pass catchers. Carr and Hunter Renfrow had a great connection a few years ago during their time with the Raiders. Renfrow went for over 600 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons, then exploded in year three, catching 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns.

That season sent Renfrow to the first Pro Bowl of his career. Unfortunately, things have been downhill since. Playing in just 10 games in 2022, Renfrow only caught 36 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns. Derek Carr being traded certainly didn’t help him bounce back. In fact, despite playing in all 17 games this past season, Renfrow only caught 25 passes for 255 yards.

At this point, a departure from the Raiders seems inevitable. It’s very likely that Las Vegas could just release Renfrow and allow him to sign with any team he wants. If they do shop him first, the Saints should be interested. He doesn’t have to be a top guy in New Orleans, just a receiver to work the middle of the field, providing another option if the top receivers are covered. Renfrow’s chemistry with Carr is a plus.
