2. Denver Broncos could be a landing spot for Jameis Winston

The Russell Wison experience has amounted to little for Denver. A new starting quarterback will be at the helm next year, as Wilson was recently released. This might be the spot that Jameis Winston has the best chance at grabbing.

Winston already has a basic familiarity with head coach Sean Payton. He played two seasons (2020 and 2021) with Payton in New Orleans. Winston also has had success with Sean Payton during those years. In the 2021 season, Winston started seven games before tearing his ACL against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In those seven games, he achieved a 5-2 record. He threw for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Winston showed that he was able to be an efficient quarterback and not turn the ball over.

The Broncos are in a good spot, selecting at pick No. 12, to get a playmaker who could help to elevate that offense. They could bolster the offensive line or add another dynamic receiving threat to help Winston thrive. He has shown that he can run a successful offense in the past and that shouldn’t change if he was to go to Denver.

Contrary to popular belief, Winston has been able to be a starting-caliber quarterback under Sean Payton and should be able to do it again if given the opportunity too.
