3 Saints rivals we want to see blow it in the playoffs
The New Orleans Saints narrowly missed out on the playoffs despite owning one of the easiest schedules in the league. Now they'll have to watch the postseason from home. To make matters worse, they have to watch a few of their rivals continue their seasons and push toward a Super Bowl.
In the Saints' own division, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers managed to shock the world by putting together a competitive season and winning the NFC South. The Saints made things a little tougher on them by beating them in Week 17 but the Bucs ultimately won their final game and took the division.
Outside of the division, Saints fans will surely be rooting against the Rams as well. We'll go more into detail about the rivalry in a bit. The Packers snuck in to grab the last spot so that could have Saints fans a little salty as well.
Here are three playoff teams that the Saints want to see fail.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This is an easy one. Obviously the Saints don't want to see their division rival make it past the Wild Card round. While it's easy to hate on the Bucs, they do deserve a lot of credit this year. They lost Tom Brady to retirement and were planning to roll with Baker Mayfield as their starter. A lot could have gone wrong for Tampa Bay but they persevered and won the NFC South.
That being said, of course Saints fans are going to root against the Buccaneers. That's what division rivals do to each other and considering the Bucs ended the Saints' season the last time New Orleans made the playoffs (which honestly feels like a lifetime ago), they're hoping the Eagles kick Tampa Bay to the curb.
