Pro Football Focus' Trevor Sikkema ranked the top 32 wide receivers heading into the 2025 season. Saints wide receiver Chris Olave made the list at its 24th spot.

Sikkema's list divides the 32 best wide receivers into four tiers through "a combination of advanced data, film evaluation, and scheme analysis."

Chris Olave's concussion history

Sikkema cites Olave's concussion history as a reason for his exclusion from the top 20 after his impressive first two seasons. He only had 400 receiving yards in 2024 after recording over 1,000 yards in 2022 and 2023.

Olave had two concussions in 2024, one in week 6 against the Buccaneers and another one against the Panthers in week 9. However, those were not the first of his professional career. He had one during his rookie season and one during his second year in the NFL. But the wide receiver doesn't seem to have any concern moving forward.

"They said I was okay back in December when they had cleared me. It was just the unlucky situations I was being put in." Olave said during mini camp. "God's got me at the end of the day; I'm not worried about nothing. Just gotta go out there and give 100% and be ready."

Kellen Moore's new offense opens up opportunities

The new offense brought by new head coach Kellen Moore is also expected to give Olave a boost. Devonte Smith, who is also in tier four, saw 833 receiving yards through 13 games last season when Moore was his offensive coordinator.

Olave expressed his excitement for the opportunities the offense could bring. "I came in here as a deep threat, but we got one of the best deep threats in the league in Shid. I'm just trying to get more involved, get some more deep ball targets, and try to play with that." Olave said.
