The New Orleans Saints haven't reached training camp yet, but media has been present for a handful of organized team activities and minicamp practices. The football season is upon us, and the Saints have been visible in the last month.
The team will take a step back before training camp begins in late July. It's still early but how are you feeling about the team so far. The Who Dat Dish team has one word to describe how they're feeling leading up to training camp
Sanguine outlook on the season
Merriam-Webster defines the word as follows: marked by eager hopefulness: confidently optimistic, which is exactly how I feel about the Saints' 2025 season.
My optimism is mainly because I think that there must be some metaphorical weight lifted off of the teams' shoulders now, with the Dennis Allen and Derek Carr era officially behind them. To me, this current Kellen Moore era, no matter how short it's been so far, has been a much better step in continuing the legacy that Drew Brees and Sean Payton have left behind.~ Molly Bauer
The Saints feel refreshing
The way minicamp has been held is refreshing. It’s clear that the old regime is gone and a new, updated one is in place. Kellen Moore is taking charge of the team and building a new culture. It’s nice to see them taking a day off to go paintballing, or play golf. In addition, the injuries are down significantly from previous years. The team still may not be good in 2025, but it’s refreshing to see what Kellen Moore is doing.~ Drew Collings
Anxious about the Saints' team
Analysts all over the league have already written the Saints off and it’s only mini camp. The Saints are unfairly projected to draft at pick number 1 in next year’s draft without even seeing the product take the field. This should have the Saints feeling very anxious after minicamp to prove that they will not be a laughing stock in 2025.~ Tramell Jeffers
Energized for training camp
There isn't a more important position on the field than quarterback, which is why all eyes have been on Tyler Shough versus Spencer Rattler. The battle has not disappointed. It's early, but both players have impressed and made highlight throws.
You mix the excitement of young quarterbacks battling and a first-time head coach. There's a new energy in New Orleans and it has me energized for training camp in a way that hasn't been the case recently. It seems like the players have that same feeling~ Darrion Gray
