The New Orleans Saints are currently 2-4, losing their last four games. The team is falling apart because of injuries, and they simply aren’t playing good football. To make matters worse, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos are coming to town for a Thursday Night Football game. What’s supposed to be a celebration of Drew Brees could end up being an embarrassing night for New Orleans.

Anyone looking at the Saints will tell you head coach Dennis Allen is on the hot seat. Through two seasons and six games, Allen’s record in New Orleans is 18-22. He hasn’t led the Saints to the playoffs yet, and it’s not looking like he will this season. Worst of all, his defense is currently playing terrible.

That's why almost everyone can admit he should be on the hot seat. One of the few people who can’t admit that is Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Loomis has long been a staunch supporter of Allen, and that hasn’t changed, despite New Orleans’ recent plummet.

On a Tuesday night appearance on the WWL Coaches Show, Loomis was asked if the team has to look at the head coach position because of how New Orleans is performing. He responded by saying results certainly matter, but as an organization, New Orleans has to look past the results to find the real issues.

Loomis went on to say it’s not always about the head coach; there are a lot of variables that determine winning and losing. However, he did say the team will look at the coach position when the time is right, but the time isn’t right now.

Mickey Loomis doesn’t plan to move on from Dennis Allen anytime soon

This is the same tune Loomis has been singing in regards to Allen since he compared his start to Bill Belichick and Chuck Noll. In Loomis’ defense, though, he’s not going to come out and disparage his head coach while he’s still leading the team. Even if Loomis is planning to move on from Allen, he wouldn’t say it to the media.

However, fans aren’t trying to hear that. They are tired of Allen and are ready to see him gone. At the very least, fans would like to see Mickey Loomis publicly hold Allen accountable for his role in everything going wrong.
