Latest Taysom Hill injury update after being carted off vs. Rams
By Ryan Heckman
Week 13 was a chance for the New Orleans Saints to continue proving that this season is far from over even after suffering a 7-game losing streak and ultimately firing head coach Dennis Allen.
New Orleans had won two in a row and looked to keep the momentum going in what ended up being a pretty tight game between the Saints and Los Angeles Rams.
One of the catalysts of this Saints team, at times, has been fan favorite and quarterback Taysom Hill. The designation "quarterback" is used lightly, with Hill, because of the fact that he plays all over the place on offense for this Saints squad.
Late in this Week 13 matchup against the Rams, though, Hill was subject to a scary moment. On a fourth down conversion which saw Hill gain a couple of yards to move the chains, he was hit by a Rams defender in what appeared to be a fairly serious manner.
Hill's knee took a hit from the helmet Rams defender Cobie Durant, and the video replay looks just as brutal as it might sound.
Taysom Hill was carted off vs. the Rams with an apparent knee injury
After staying down for a little while, Hill ultimately needed help getting off the field. He was unable to make it under his own power. Thus, they brought out the cart and he was aided in leaving the field.
With just about two minutes remaining in the game, Hill was pronounced doubtful to return, which didn't come as a surprise, especially with so little time left.
Amidst a season where this Saints offense was already severely banged-up, the Hill injury just hits different. Fans were chanting his name as he left the field on Sunday afternoon. This fan base knows just what Hill means to the team.
Prior to leaving the game, Hill had lined up with snaps played at quarterback (8), running back (3), tight end (3), wide receiver (20) and fullback (8).
He led the Saints with five catches for 37 yards up to that point.
