It could possibly be the end of an era for the New Orleans Saints this offseason, as fan favorite defensive end Cameron Jordan will test the free agent waters. This will be the first time in his career that Jordan will hit free agency and it's going to be an anxiety-riddled few weeks for Saints fans.

Unfortunately, it could only get worse. Mike Tannenbaum was asked on NFL Live where he could see Jordan ending up and his answer will make Saints fans' skin crawl.

"To me, an ideal situation is Tampa Bay, right in the same division. They know him very well. They need help in their pass rush. I think you have to pay appropriately. This is more of the Khalil Macks, Joey Bosas, great players towards the end. Maybe you squeeze a year or two out, 20 or 30 plays a game and maybe he gives you some production. Tampa Bay really needs help in their pass rush."

Cameron Jordan leaving the Saints for the Bucs doesn't feel realistic

Talk about worst-case scenarios. It'd be painful enough seeing Jordan not in a Saints uniform in 2026 and however long he decides to keep playing but if he was wearing those pewter uniforms? Ugh.

The good news here is that the chances of Jordan actually ending up in Tampa seem pretty slim given his history with the Saints' divisional foe. Jordan has previously taken great pride in dunking on the Bucs, and Jason Licht, Tampa's GM, even clapped back on social media one time after his Bucs beat New Orleans.

So, even though Tannenbaum thinks this pairing could make sense, there's a lot more to it here. Sure, on paper, Jordan could make sense in Tampa since the Buccaneers need pass-rushing help but would he accept a deal from them? Is he frustrated enough with New Orleans to go and play with the enemy? Jordan doesn't feel like that kind of guy.

Saints fans are at least hoping that Jordan isn't that kind of guy. The best case scenario here is that Jordan returns to New Orleans on an affordable deal and continues the production he had in 2025. But if that can't happen, hopefully Jordan goes to a team in the AFC.
