Kellen Moore would be licking his chops at this mock draft

The New Orleans Saints landed an absolute steal in this seven round mock draft of active players. After getting Jordan Love in the first round, Malik Nabers fell in their lap at the end of the second round. Despite having to wait until the 57th pick, the Saints may have actually upgraded at the position.

It isn’t rare to get a receiver of Nabers’ caliber at the end of the second round in a re-draft because it’s going to be very quarterback heavy early on. Even with that knowledge, this still is great bang for your buck. Nabers still has pretty much his entire career ahead of him.

In this hypothetical, everyone doesn’t snap back to full health. Nabers is recovering from an ACL injury in real life, and that doesn’t change here. Luckily, we see players bounce back from ACL injuries much better due to modern science and he’s still young.

Kellen Moore would be the biggest fan of this pick

Kellen Moore would have to be licking his chops if this became the case. This feels like a dream scenario for the Saints, especially looking at Moore's history.

Nabers had an elite rookie campaign. He was the clear top option on the Giants, and he still surpassed 1200 yards in 15 games. He also 7 touchdowns to the mix.

His sophomore campaign was cut short by an injury, so how Nabers would have followed up his rookie year is an unknown. It’s clear he has all the traits you want in a top receiver. It's not a matter of talent for him, just whether or not he can return to form.

Nabers is kind of reminiscent of CeeDee Lamb, who Moore coached in his first few years in the league. Both Nabers and Lamb are three level threats that are dangerous with the ball in their hands. The run after the catch ability is something the Saints have been searching for for years, and Nabers would provide that.

Lamb spent the first three years of his career in Moore's offense and took a step forward each year in terms of role and production. At the end of the three year stretch, Lamb had worked his way into being an All-Pro player. Nabers could have a similar trajectory under Moore.
