The Associated Press released their first and second team All-Pros for the 2025 NFL season, featuring only one New Orleans Saints player: Chris Olave. However, the wide receiver wasn't the only Saint to receive votes.
Linebacker Demario Davis, cornerback Alontae Taylor, and long snapper Zach Wood all received votes for the all-pro team, but they did not get enough to make the final cut. This marks the second consecutive season in which only one Saints player has been selected for an all-pro team, with last year's sole representative being safety J.T. Gray, who made it as a special teamer. The last time more than one player from New Orleans made it was in 2023, with Rashid Shaheed and Demario Davis.
Although Olave (who is also the first Saint to be an offesnive all-pro since 2020) is the only player from New Orleans to offically earn the post-season honor this year, Davis, Taylor, and Wood all receiving votes is evidence that the Saints are doing something right behind the scenes. Kellen Moore, in his first year on the job, has managed to cook up a recipe for success.
In his first season, Kellen Moore has already planted some seeds for the future
Even though he hasn't had the job for a full calendar year yet, Kellen Moore has planted some seeds for the future in New Orleans. Ironically, it was most evident in Demario Davis, who entered the 2025 season at the age of 36. He notched a personal best this season, and who has indicated that he wants to play more football with the Saints in 2026. The linebacker has praised the first-time head coach, saying that he's made the locker room feel the best it's had in years.
Cam Jordan, another ageless wonder, has also hyped up Moore, saying that the locker room has been "great" under him. Furthermore, if you want more evidence that Moore has changed the locker room, Chase Young, who first got here when Dennis Allen was in charge, only just now has said that he wants to stay in New Orleans forever.
Moore also hit a home run with his first draft class, with Jonas Sanker, Quincy Riley, and Kelvin Banks Jr. having their own stellar seasons. The 2025 draft class was not his only successful addition to the Saints, as he also hit on the trade for young wide receiver Devaughn Vele, who ended his first season in New Orleans in Michael Thomas-esque fashion.
